Sustainability is increasingly being integrated into most courses across all disciplines at UTS. Courses with a sustainability focus can be undertaken in science, engineering, arts and social sciences, business, architecture and building, and transdisciplinary innovation. Check with individual faculties and schools for details. In addition, the Institute for Sustainable Futures runs short courses, workshops and seminars across a range of sustainability areas some of which are available on UTS Open.
Sustainability Modules
UTS recognises the importance of embedding sustainability into the curriculum in order to prepare graduates, whatever their field, for careers of the future. A Sustainability Module is available on Canvas Commons to assist lecturers to embed sustainability into their subject. The module offers ready-to-go materials and activities on sustainability concepts and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The resources are available to be reused, adapted and shared.
A Sustainability Training Module is available to all staff through NEO. The module includes an introduction to sustainability and the SDGs, governance of sustainability at UTS including our Climate Positive Plan, and what UTS is doing to build a more sustainable world through research, education and operations and by facilitating innovation and collaborating with partners.
