Providing proof of identity
You need to provide proof of your identity before UTS will provide you with access to your personal information or carry out your request to amend your information.
Proving your identity is vital to protecting your privacy.
Accepted forms of identification
To prove your identity, you may need to show or provide a copy of one of the following forms of photo ID:
- a valid passport
- a current Australian Driver's Licence
- a current UTS student or staff ID card.
UTS will not collect any more information than is necessary to establish your identity and facilitate your access request.
If you are accessing information in person, your photo ID may simply be sighted to verify your identity before access is provided.
For further information, contact the UTS Privacy Officer.
Note: In this section on privacy at UTS, the term ‘personal information’ refers to both personal and health information, unless specified otherwise. Both terms are explained in Privacy definitions.
