The outcomes for the inaugural Engagement and Impact Assessment (EIA) and accompanying Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment measures research quality. The EIA is Australia’s first national assessment of how universities engage outside of academia, and translate research into benefits for society. UTS has performed exceptionally, coming out number 1 nationally in the EIA, with 80 per cent of impact assessments rated high. Faculty of Science performance is outstanding, and has been acknowledged as having 5 ‘high impact’ areas out of 7 impact areas assessed, with the remaining 2 as medium impact.
Both the ERA and EIA has recognised UTS and Science for its research which is at a remarkably high standard, and our outstanding academic, technical and professional staff should be incredibly delighted with this outstanding result.
