Care leavers support
We are committed to supporting students who are in formal out-of-home care (e.g. foster care, residential care, kinship care or being a ward of the state) to ensure that they receive the help they need to have a successful university experience.
We understand that the transition from out-of-home-care in to higher education can be challenging, so as well as receiving ongoing support while studying with us, we can also provide advice and guidance before students apply.
Support includes:
- setting up appointments to discuss support options available to students before they apply or accept their offers to study
- helping students to access the right support services while studying
- arranging a tour of our campus or a visit to UTS student accommodation.
If you would like more information about support available at UTS for students from a care background, call the Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion on +61 2 9514 1084.
