When we talk about social justice, it's more than just lip service. UTS Law is home to the acclaimed research centres - Anti-Slavery Australia, Australasian Legal Information Institue (AustLII) and the Centre for Media Transition - that use the law as a tool for change. There's a wealth of student-centered initiatives on offer too - undertake human rights fieldwork overseas, participate in a global or local internship or join the Brennan Justice and Leadership Program.
The Brennan Program is a free, voluntary program for UTS Law students that seek to strengthen the justice conscious, idealism and sense of service that they bring to their professional work. As part of this program, students contribute voluntary service (both legal and non-legal in nature) and reflect on justice through lectures and discussion groups.
Mooting competitions
At UTS Law, students are encouraged to sharpen their mooting techniques through our award-winning mooting program. Get involved in the junior level competitions run by the UTS Law Students' Society. As your talent develops, take on the global, competitive-entry moot competitions, including the much sought-after Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot and the Monroe E. Price International Media Law Moot held at the University of Oxford.
Experiential learning is about applying what you've learnt to real-world challenges - and there's no shortage of real-world challenges at UTS Law.
