Associate Professor Abby Mellick Lopes
Postgraduate design course director Abby Mellick Lopes is a design studies scholar engaged in interdisciplinary, design-led social research and the Director of Postgraduate Design Studies. An award-winning teacher and experienced postgraduate supervisor, Abby’s research advances the critical role of design in addressing the impacts of climate change and promoting the transition to more sustainable cultures and economies.

Professor Martin Bryant
Landscape architecture course director Martin Bryant offers research expertise in urban ecology and resilience that is internationally recognised for policy development. He has received various awards for his work, including the Charlie Challenger NZILA award for his research on resilience. He has exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2021) and authored the United Nations Habitat III policy paper on urban ecology and resilience (2017).
Gerard Reinmuth
Architecture course director Gerard Reinmuth is the inaugural Professor of Practice in the UTS School of Architecture and director of TERROIR, an award-winning Australian architectural practice with offices in Sydney, Hobart and Copenhagen. Gerard’s research spans both architectural practice (including sustainability, procurement practices and larger questions of agency) and research by design.

Leila Moslemi Naeni
Project management course director Leila Moslemi Naeni is an experienced lecturer whose teaching focuses on developing the skills that are needed to manage complex projects and deliver the results. Her research in project management has two broad directions. The first is the project performance evaluation for complex projects that involve a high degree of uncertainty. Her second area of research focuses on improving project management practices using data analytics and new technologies.
Associate Professor Janet Ge
Property development and real estate investment course director Janet Ge is a senior academic and research specialist in learning and teaching property programs that focus on the housing sector. Janet's primary research covers housing affordability, the housing market and house prices, property development finance and investment, with over seventy refereed papers and book chapters published.
Johnny Wong
Construction management course director Johnny K-W Wong is an Associate Professor in the School of the Built Environment, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He is a chartered Quantity Surveyor, and previously held academic positions in Brisbane and Hong Kong before joining UTS in June 2017.
Sumita Ghosh
Planning course director Sumita Ghosh is an academic who focuses on responsive urban design and spatial planning in the UTS School of Built Environment. As an architect and urban planner, Sumita has more than 28 years of teaching, research and professional experience. She has previously worked for the government, local councils, research organisations and universities in Australia and New Zealand.
