Creating shared research agendas
The idea of establishing at UTS a research agenda that focused on themes of cosmopolitan civil societies was first floated in 2006. Academics in the Faculties of Business, Design, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences and in Law proposed an experimental inter-disciplinary engagement to develop such an agenda. The venture was supported by the UTS research committee and in 2007 a monthly cross-university public seminar was established to address a range of themes in cosmopolitan civil societies. These were jointly hosted by established and early-career academics in the different participating fields, and sustained a lively conversation through the year. The results of these first forays into the field were made immediately available in the form of digital recordings. Please visit our resources page to locate the links to these recordings, which are held in the University's digital repository.
