Capacity building is a key component of the services available from CREST through both formal and informal learning opportunities and strategies.
Training
The capacity building activities include:
- Conducting a range of workshops for trial group members. These will include introductory health economics topics, as well as more advanced topics such as developing economic models, measuring preferences, quality of life and consumer-focused workshops. A minimum of two workshops will be conducted each year.
- Providing the opportunity for cancer collaborative trials group members to undertake health economics projects under the guidance/mentorship of a member of CREST.
- Horizon scanning through work with individual CTGs, monitoring of key journals and methodological papers, and through national and international links, to identify and disseminate to CTGs advice on methodological issues that are common to health economic analyses across cancer collaborative trial CTGs.
If you have any ideas for training strategies you would like to see implemented by CREST, please contact us.
