Vice-Chancellor's Learning and Teaching Showcase 2016
Dr Scott Chadwick talks about his award-winning work at the Showcase
Learning and Teaching Award, Citation and Commendation winners were celebrated at a gala event at the Great Hall on 4 April 2016.
The Chancellor, Members of Council, the Vice-Chancellor, Senior Executive, Deans, collegues, friends and family were on hand to congratuate all the recipients and learn more about their work.
The Award winners' presentations were as entertaining as they were insightful. Dr Nick Hopwood revealed that the most caustic peer review he'd ever received now forms part of an exercise that greatly benefits his HDR students; Dr Scott Chadwick was able to distil the chemistry underpinning learning and teaching; Dr Jurgen Schulte was grateful that the University is investing in Futures rather than Options, and the HELPS team's heart-felt and inspiring video featured many of the team talking about what makes their work so personally rewarding.
Dr Tanja Golja gave a thought-provoking key note address entitled, "A Little Philosophical Laughter" on Transdisciplinary Learning Futures, which had all those who attended talking afterwards, and wishing that she'd been able to speak for much longer.
