This privacy notice explains how the Multicultural Women’s Network (MWN) manages your personal information when you engage with us.

Collecting your information
We collect the following information from you directly, either through communications from you, or when you engage with our events and activities (we do not collect any of your information from UTS):
your contact details
registration and participation in events and activities
surveys and other feedback processes
background/profile information, including photos or video recordings, where you consent for your information being collected and provided to other network members or published.
Background information may include information about ethnicity and racial origin, which is considered “sensitive personal information”. Providing this information is optional and is provided with your consent only, and can be amended or deleted at any time by contacting us.
Using your information
The MWN uses your personal information:
to communicate with you and distribute news, information on events, activities and opportunities.
to manage your registration and participation in events and other activities.
for quality improvement and planning purposes, including to better deliver the objectives of the MWN, and to guide the MWN operations and strategic direction.
for statistical reporting.
Disclosing your information
Your information will only be disclosed:
with your consent. This includes for the publication of profiles, photos or videos, or where you engage with our mentoring program.
where required or permitted by law.
Storage and data retention
Your membership with MWN is separate to UTS business activities, however your information will be held in Teams and only accessible by members of the core committee.
Your information will only be retained for as long as you remain a member. If you wish to withdraw from the network/unsubscribe, your information will be deleted.
Your Rights
You can request access to the information MWN hold about you, or request inaccurate information to be updated or corrected at any time, by contacting the MWN. You can also contact the MWN to make a complaint about how your information has been handled, or to unsubscribe or withdraw your membership. Refer to our contact details below.
