Initiating new research projects
In 2008 the centre consolidated four interdisciplinary teams centred on the four research programs. These are developing research grant proposals in the name of CCS to the Australian Research Council (ARC) linkage grants program in October 2008.
In addition a range of ARC applications were made in 2008 citing CCS as a key base for the proposed research. These include:
- a collaboration with the Globalism Institute at RMIT examining justice globalism as a new ideology (Goodman with Steger and Patomaki);
- a partnership between a senior member of CCS and an early career researcher examining the rise of Islamism (Jakubowicz and Hosseini);
- a project investigating civil society in North Korea, again with a relatively senior CCS member and an early career researcher (Dalton and Jung);
