‘Who did it’ Forensic science workshop
UTS Science is excited to be delivering our popular ‘Who did it’ Forensic science workshops as part of the Schools program:
Workshop:Who did it? Forensic Science
Secondary students: Monday 12 – Wednesday 14 August
Primary students: Thursday 15
Diverse learners Years 3-11: Friday 16 August
Explore what it’s like to be a forensic investigator and use scientific applications to solve crimes. Students will participate in a mock case scenario and learn how to dust and collect fingerprints, analyse bloodstain spatter and manage a crime scene, with the aim of the aim of identifying trace elements.
Talking Science sessions
Supporting the schools education program, we have four UTS Scientists participating in Talking Science sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity for secondary students (Year 7 – 11) to be inspired by STEM researchers and hear about their project/s, passions and careers in relation to the session theme. Each session will be delivered to a live audience and will also be recorded through DART Learning
Regenerating Nature
As climate change starts to impact organisms, we need to look at how adaption and regeneration can ensure species survival. Hear from scientists working on climate change adaptation and regeneration projects.
Date: Monday 12 August 2024, Session 1: 12.30pm – 1.15pm, Session 2: 1.30pm – 2.15pm
