Why study Environmental Science?
Our Environment and Marine courses combine general science subjects with specialist study in areas such as aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, plant physiology, biodiversity conservation, wildlife management and environmental protection, among others. Depending on your choice of degree, you’ll also build highly practical skills in areas like urban resilience, geographic information systems and remote sensing.
These degrees will prepare you to work at the forefront of environmental protection and remediation where qualified scientists are more in demand than ever.
In the face of a global climate crisis, environmental science expertise is increasingly in demand. The Master of Science (Environmental Consultancy and Conservation) is a leading postgraduate environmental restoration course. It combines advanced scientific training and fieldwork with fundamental management skills, preparing you for consulting and leadership roles across this critical area of practice.
At UTS, you’ll learn to identify and mitigate a range of ecological challenges, as well as to rehabilitate the marine and terrestrial environments that are crucial to the health of our planet. You’ll gain theoretical and hands-on experience with coastal protection, land contamination mitigation, wildlife handling and water quality testing and analysis, among others, and you can also tailor your studies through your choice of general or specialist management electives.
Get inspired
Get your boots muddy — or your feet wet — with leading UTS Science degrees in environmental and marine biology. You’ll combine extensive fieldwork experience with scientific training and support from leading environmental practitioners, preparing you for consulting and leadership roles in an uncertain climate future. Benefit from industry connections through co-designed curriculum, guest lectures and seminar series, and industry-relevant projects.
