Eligibility Criteria
When applying for UTS approved Global Short Programs, you must ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for your preferred program. These include up to 3 types of eligibility criteria:
- General eligibility criteria to participate in UTS short-term programs (see below)
- Additional host partner eligibility criteria that may be required for specific programs (refer to your preferred program profiles on the Global Short Program database and read the eligibility criteria in the profile)
- Additional eligibility criteria for different types of financial assistance
General Eligibility Criteria
You must meet the following general eligibility criteria if you wish to participate in any short-term program. You must:
- be applying for an activity or program that is endorsed by UTS Global Short Programs
- be on track to complete one year of full-time undergraduate studies (48 credit points passed) prior to the start of your Global Short Program
- have achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 55
- if you are utilising your last subject for a Global Short Program (you will not have 6 credit points upon return) you may still complete this experience but will risk your graduation being delayed and will be ineligible for an OS HELP loan
- have no active sanctions against your UTS enrolment
- not be undertaking a leave of absence or facing exclusion
- be deemed suitable by UTS International to represent UTS i.e. be a positive global ambassador
- not apply for a program that is in your home country (international students only)
- have a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
If you are a postgraduate student, your application will be assessed on a case by case basis and you will not be eligible for any scholarships.
If you are completing a Global Short Program without receiving academic credit, you will not be eligible for any financial assistance, scholarships, or exchange places.
Please note that some programs offer specific types of financial assistance that have additional eligibility criteria (see point 2 above). If you choose one of these programs, you must ensure you meet both the general eligibility criteria and the additional scholarship specific eligibility criteria. If you meet the general eligibility criteria (listed above) but do not meet any of the additional scholarship eligibility criteria, please do not apply for that program.
