Gain international perspectives from the comfort of your own home!

UTS is excited to offer you an opportunity to participate in the Virtual Global Short Programs, making this an integral part of your degree and a complement to the programs that require physical travel overseas.

Want to obtain an international experience during your studies at UTS to boost your employability, but can't travel overseas due to study, personal or work commitments? Looking for an affordable international program? Don’t have space in your degree to do for-credit programs? We’ve got you covered with Virtual Global Short Programs!

Virtual Global Short Programs include summer/winter schools at partner universities, global internships, language programs, cultural or entrepreneurship immersion experiences and various other opportunities. Please see our program database for the full range of virtual programs available. All our virtual programs are supported and endorsed by UTS faculties and therefore, if eligible, you may receive academic credit towards your degree at UTS and a scholarship to help with program fees.

Benefits of Virtual Global Short Programs

UTS is at the forefront of innovative teaching and learning, as well as creating international opportunities that enable you to enhance your global citizenship skills while building strong professional identity and future-focused graduate capabilities. We understand not everyone can travel abroad, so Virtual Global Short Programs allow you to study, intern or learn from Australia. By participating in a virtual program you’ll enhance your digital skills and learn how to work effectively across cultures and countries in a true 21st-century workplace.  UTS has cherry-picked high-quality, academically rigorous and culturally rich virtual programs, and encourages you to take advantage of them over your winter or summer break!

In case you are still wondering why you should take a Virtual Global Short Program, below are some benefits:

  • Utilise your winter or summer break and gain academic credit towards your degree
  • Study from the comfort of your own home (during times of self-isolation and beyond)
  • Learn how universities across the world teach and structure their courses
  • Be exposed to the knowledge and expertise of global companies
  • Develop friendships with like-minded students from around the world who are undertaking the same programs
  • Develop your global mindset and cross-cultural skills
  • Develop your global digital literacy and enhance your IT skills
  • Expand your personal and professional skill-set
  • Enhance your CV with a unique global learning experience and become more employable
  • Save money as these opportunities are much more affordable, with no travel costs involved

Hi everyone.

My name is Jennifer, and I study the Bachelor of Health Science here at UTS.

My favourite thing about the Virtual Global Short Program was the new cultural experiences that forced me out of my comfort zone.

It was really refreshing to meet new people and speak to them about their experiences in countries beyond Australia.

There are endless opportunities in the international industry and the industry offers roles to people from different academic backgrounds.

Whether you're studying law, science, arts, or even business, there are opportunities for growth and building connections in the Virtual Global Short Program.
