Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do now?
- Please refer to your course’s subject availability table to plan your 2025 enrolment.
- Go to MyStudentAdmin to enrol into your required subjects. See the UTS Principal Dates for the deadline last day to be admitted and enrol (add subjects) for each session.
Do I have to move to the new course?
There is no requirement for students to move to the new course. Students will be able to remain in their current course and graduate as per the normal process.
Current students will have access to some subjects from the new course as we will be teaching out some current subjects and substituting others with subjects from the new course. You can view the changes on the subject availability table for your course. Your study plan will be updated with the equivalent subjects prior to enrolment opening for 2025.
If students wish to move to the new course, you may be able to submit an Internal Course Transfer Application Continuing application.
Please note that the new course structure is different from the current course structure so there may only be opportunities for recognition of prior learning to be granted for elective subjects. Therefore, students who move between courses may have a longer course duration and need to complete more subjects.
I’ve seen an 8-credit-point subject in another faculty that I’d like to do as an elective -
can I choose this?
If you find a postgraduate subject that you want to complete as an elective and this elective isn’t included in your elective choice block, you will need to submit an eRequest to seek approval from the School.
Please ensure that it is an 8-credit-point subject, postgraduate level subject, before submitting an eRequest to seek approval from the School.
I’m enrolled in the Masters course and am now unable to complete the course. Am I able to graduate out earlier with a Graduate Diploma?
If you are enrolled in the Master’s course and wish to graduate earlier, you are able to apply to graduate earlier with the Graduate Diploma which is articulated to this course. You should apply for a course transfer (graduating) within the deadlines stated for submitting an application to complete this process. You should lodge your completed application to an online enquiry via Ask UTS.
What if I can’t complete my course by the specified deadline?
Students who have not completed the course by the phasing out deadline will be managed on a case-by-case by a School Responsible Academic Officer (RAO).
The RAO will work with the course academic advisor to provide advice on alternative arrangements that the student may wish to pursue at UTS or elsewhere such as Open University. Please submit an Ask UTS Enquiry if you need to be referred to the RAO.
Can I apply to undertake concurrent study at another institution?
If you are a current UTS student who wishes to study a subject at another institution or at an institution that is not a UTS Global Exchange or UTS Global Short Programs partner for academic credit within your UTS degree, you may be eligible to apply for concurrent study.
Who can I talk to if I have any questions about my study plan or enrolments?
All inquiries should be directed to the UTS Student Centre in the first instance. This is to ensure that issues can be monitored and escalated to the School if required.
Online enquiries can be submitted via Ask UTS
