Alex Belli (Lecturer at Australian Catholic University) | The PhD program at UTS Business is a very challenging and rewarding experience: despite being a very intense course, it fostered my interest for research and it enabled me to work with (and learn from) students, lecturers and research professionals. It’s definitely recommended for those who have a passion for research and are keen to learn from others |
Anne-Maree O'Rourke (Lecturer at University of Queensland) |
The Marketing PhD at UTS has proven to be one of the most rewarding yet challenging endeavors I’ve embarked on. Coming from industry, I always remind myself that it is a major privilege to be working on a topic that you have chosen and are passionate about. During my tenure as a doctoral student I’ve had the opportunity to teach various subjects and work with faculty as a research assistant, which has given me invaluable insight into life as an academic. The open and nurturing culture at UTS Marketing allows for the sharing of ideas and critical discussion across a wide range of marketing research areas. As a result, I have never been short of support and guidance from the faculty. One of the aspects I have valued the most is the strong comradeship amongst my fellow PhD students. While earning a PhD certainly isn’t easy, UTS has provided me with a flexible, comfortable and enjoyable environment to achieve my goal! |
Ralf Wilden (Associate Professor at Macquarie University) | The PhD in Marketing was a very valuable experience to me and I am glad that I chose the UTS Business School. It enabled me to learn relevant theories and research methods, but more importantly, it taught me to look beyond the Australian borders and thus exposed me to the international academic community. I particularly enjoyed the strong PhD student cohort I was embedded in and how everyone made my experience studying away from home worthwhile. |

UTS has enabled me to gain knowledge and develop research skills either through courses offered at the institution as well as by working closely with my supervisor and other PhD panel members. Furthermore I’ve had opportunity to work with some of the best scholars from my field worldwide either through short courses offered at UTS or by having 1-to-1 consultations with them, regarding my research. I believe that the marketing PhD program at UTS is constantly improving; making it the place to be for ambitious future PhD students that want to start they career in academia! |
