Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) 2019
In the recent ERA report, the Graduate School of Health ranked ‘above world standard’ across our Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Psychology research areas.
The ERA evaluation framework is an Australian Government-led initiative that identifies and promotes excellence across the full spectrum of research activity of 39 Australian higher education institutions against the rest of the world.
Conducted every three years, it is an internationally recognised benchmark by researchers of an institution’s quality of research.
Engagement and Impact Assessment (EIA) 2019
UTS #1 in Australia for high impact research. In a nation-leading result, almost 80 per cent of assessed UTS research was rated as having a ‘high’ impact on the community, well above the sector average of 43 per cent.
At the two digit 11 Field of Research Medical and Health Sciences submitted under the discipline of Public and Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Health rated:
- Impact – High
- Engagement – High
- Approach to Impact – High
The case study submitted on impact was the work by undertaken in Papua New Guinea addressing a complex humanitarian crisis in maternal and child health. This important work led to improvements in the nation’s health system, policy and regulation and resulted in societal benefits occurring via job creation, improved health workforce capacity and capabilities.
