‘Porcelain Fog’ was inspired by an extremely foggy night in the suburbs. The eerie quietness that comes with a fog and the numbing of the senses create the perfect setting for a vivid imagination. The story is designed as a discourse into the greyness of good and evil. While you read this, consider who in the story is good or evil. This short story written for Genre Writing in the Bachelor of Communication (Creative Writing). The story is a speculative fiction piece of work that works within the realm of fantasy horror, incorporating conventions of fantasy and horror. The process began with the silent protagonist and developed through workshopping with both my tutor and peers.
