'Nice to Meet You' is a non-fiction piece which creatively explores my experience of Paddington Markets- the local haunt of my youth. By elaborating and characterising many of the local market-goers, the piece aims to reflect the eclectic uniqueness of the markets, as seen through its occupants and goods. The piece also recognises that a place can grow and change as you do, and that time and space can mean more than any one given thing. The writing process involved two days spent traversing the markets, recalling memories, and meeting vendors to ultimately create a piece that encapsulated the experience of thrift-shopping.
