Meet our best and brightest
Melissa Noonan
Head of Strategy and Operations, St George, Retail Banking
Master of Management
Completing my postgraduate studies at UTS was an important factor in developing my commercial skills to make good business decisions based on insight and evidence rather than having subject matter expertise in any one area. At the same time my UTS studies reinforced that people leadership is critical to business success. The postgraduate studies offered by UTS Business School are fantastic for people embarking on studies who have busy working and family lives, as the programs offer the option to complete Certificate, Diploma and Masters courses depending on the commitment that the individual can make to ongoing education, especially if their circumstances change.
Samuel Kiely
Operations Manager and Field Technician, Central Monitoring Services Pty Ltd
Master of Human Resource Management
“Postgraduate studies at UTS ensure employment freedom for a young worker; I am in my late 20’s and I genuinely believe that to differentiate yourself in the workforce you need that competitive edge, and UTS Business School offers that edge. Rather than a lone wolf approach to postgraduate studies, UTS provides a holistic organisational education that can be applied to all companies, both domestic and international. Interestingly I have actually employed a UTS undergraduate to work in our operations department, and her critical thinking and intelligence has seen her rise from trainee to valued employee in a short period.”
Violet Roumeliotis
CEO, Settlement Services International; 2017 Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year
Master of Non-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Management
Over the years in the sector, a number of my colleagues whom I had a lot of regard for had mentioned that they had gone to UTS Business School and they were very happy with the Not For-Profit master course. UTS Business School was outstanding – supportive and practical in its assistance and used orientation to offer time management tips. The course format was ideal for me and my fellow students as it offered flexibility and the staff were extremely helpful and pragmatic. Since graduating, I am now in a job where I have almost tripled my income, involves international travel and is a large values-led charity where the work is thoroughly rewarding (although very demanding!)
Linda Saker
Events & Administrative Contractor
Master of Event Management
I was looking for a university that could provide a modern environment and contemporary approach as well as a great Events program. I decided I wanted to study in Sydney, and UTS best suited my needs. UTS has broadened my perspective of business and event operations. My studies have helped me link previous knowledge to new information and enabled me to build a unique portfolio of skills that I believe I will be able to use in many different industries in the future.
Margot Harley
Head of Consumer Business, Sydney Roosters
Master of Sport Management
“When I think of business I think of UTS. The Business School has a great name, and the fact that they offered a Master of Sport Management made the choice a no brainer for me. I’ve been fortunate that the research done in my capstone subject has been able to create a real-world strategy because that was my biggest goal. I didn’t want to do research just to do it. I identified that I had an opportunity to actually make it mean something. What I’m most proud of is that I could do something that not only has helped me in my degree but has also been able to effect some change in the sport that I’m passionate about.”
Lauren Hooke
Consultant, Supply Chain Cover Pty Ltd
Master of Supply Chain Management
“I was initially tossing up between a few universities and went along to a UTS postgrad info night. One of the professors sat down with me and talked at length about my specific situation and what I personally wanted to gain from my studies. I was really impressed with his level of knowledge and the personal interest that he took in making sure I made the right course choice and I signed up that night.”
