UTS faculty
- Associate Professor Jochen Schweitzer is Course Director for the EMBA. Before becoming an academic, Jochen worked as a strategy consultant and adviser for corporate and start-up clients. He teaches the Strategic Design Studio, Strategies and Business Models, and the capstone subject, Venture Launch.
- Professor Prabhu Sivabalan is an award-winning educator and heads the enterprise learning portfolio at UTS. Prabhu teaches Accounting Practices and Tools, and Start-up Finance and Accounting.
- Professor David Bedford has investigated the use of performance measurement systems in firms pursuing different types of innovation, the performance implications of using combinations of management controls in different firm contexts, and the use of management controls in private equity firms. David teaches Data-Driven Decision Making.
- Professor David Brown has been the owner and founder of various businesses. David is an expert in the design and use of management and accounting systems that address behavioural, decision-making and coordination problems in start-ups. He teaches in the Venture Lab.
- Professor Dave Michayluk is the Head of the Finance Discipline Group at UTS. He has first-hand start-up experience as a director and adviser to many start-up businesses, as well as a founder going through one of the world's best incubator programs. David teaches Start-up Finance and Accounting.
- Associate Professor Natalina Zlatevska specialises in the marketing influences on consumer behaviour, self-regulation, and cognition. Her research has been published in international journals. Natalina teaches Delivering Customer Value.
- Associate Professor Gordon Menzies is interested in the possible dangers of economic thinking, either when it ignores the human side of economic interactions or when markets become an overriding metaphor for social life. Gordon teaches Business and Political Economy.
- Dr Sonika Singh has industry experience in market research. Her research includes Google search advertising, social media and influencer marketing, consumer information search, AI applications in marketing, and sustainable entrepreneurship. She teaches Digital and Social Media Marketing.
- Dr Kristoffer Glover researches the application of optimal stopping theory and has also worked in the areas of liquidity modelling and behavioural finance. He teaches Applied Financial Management in the Executive MBA program.
- Dr Hardy Hully specialises in Financial Economics, Investment Management, Quantitative Finance, Stochastic Control Theory, Optimal Stopping, Stochastic Analysis, and Probability Theory. Hardy teaches Valuation, capital structure and budgeting in the EMBA.
- Dr Mona Mashhadi Rajabi is a post-doctoral research associate at the UTS Centre for Climate Risk and Resilience. Mona teaches Sustainable Value Management.
- Dr Tim Williams specialises in the management challenges and opportunities for society and the environment related to corporate sustainability, strategic management and innovation. Tim teaches Adaptive Sustainable Enterprise in the EMBA
- Dr Walter Jarvis investigates the decision-making and judgement of business leaders. He draws on 30+ years of general management and consulting experience with local and international corporations. Walter teaches Navigating managerial dilemmas.
Adjunct faculty
- Dr Lars Groeger is an educator, researcher and advisor to industry. He combines his passion for teaching with his expertise in design-led innovation, business model innovation, customer engagement and strategic marketing. Lars teaches the Adaptive Leadership Lab and Strategic Design Studio.
- Tarra van Amerongen is a senior innovation leader at Atlassian with a background in corporate banking, strategic design consulting and general management. She teaches students how to apply strategy, design thinking, data analytics and start-up methods in the subject Strategic Design Studio.
- Dr David Bickett is a senior executive, social researcher, consultant, executive coach and academic who has been involved in the practical application of disruptive change and leadership for many years. David teaches the Innovation Lab.
- Brian Dorricott is the successful founder of two businesses and former lead facilitator for CSIRO's ON Accelerator Lean Innovation & Startup Programs. With his wealth of experience, he teaches Start-up Structures and IP.
- Dr Chelsea Wise has 15+ years of experience in tech, data analytics and AI in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Germany across Financial Services, Retail, FMCG and Media industries. She teaches Data, Algorithms and Meaning.
- Dr Ele Jansen is trained as an anthropologist and has extensive experience helping people find and act upon their passion. Ele teaches the subject Founder at Heart.
- Dr Tim Rayner is a philosopher, researcher, author, educator and facilitator with over a decade's experience working with startups, scaleups, and large organizations on growth and innovation challenges. Tim teaches Leading Technological Disruption.
- Leanne Sobel is a strategic designer, researcher and educator who investigates complex problems and delivers strategic outcomes. Leanne has worked in both the education and private sectors. Leanne teaches the core subject Strategic Design Studio.
- Dr Dean Blomson is a senior executive, strategy, and transformation consultant with experience in corporate governance and project and portfolio management of capital initiatives. Dean teaches Applied governance and risk management.
- Dr Julien Marchand specialises in supporting student entrepreneurship. He is a serial entrepreneur and award-winning educator. Julien teaches the Venture Lab in the entrepreneurship study stream.
- Tom Bass is the Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) at UTS Business School and brings substantial start-up experience as a founder and adviser to the program. Tom has taken part in some of the world's best accelerator programs. He teaches the capstone subject Venture Launch.
- Rob Deeming is a serial entrepreneur, senior executive and Harvard MBA graduate. Rob has taken many companies from their early beginnings to IPO. He teaches Venture Growth and Internationalisation.
- Dr Simon Wright is a Research Principal at the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures and an advisor on aspects of sustainability - renewable energy, circular economy and net zero transitions. Simon teaches Adaptive Sustainable Enterprise.
- Ephraim Patrick is a partner at Mercer, working with executives to develop people strategies and implement organisational transformation for turnaround and growth. Ephraim teaches Transforming workforce capability.
- Lindy Jones is a Director and transformation and change management leader at KPMG, specialising in financial services focusing on insurance and wealth management. Lindy teaches the corporate transformation capstone subject, Transformation and Renewal.
