Research program (Seminars)
Members of the CCS are involved in UTS' Community Management Program. UTS is Australia's premier centre for research and teaching in nonprofit and community organisations. The Community Management program forms the University's flagship teaching program for people working in these areas.
The Masters, Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma courses provide an opportunity to study, at a professional level, those factors contributing to the effective management of nonprofit organisations. The program has been modelled along the lines of the MBA and offers subjects in financial management, human resources, law, fundraising and strategy, while at the same time being grounded in understandings and research about this class of organisations. In addtion to these skills, participants develop an understanding of this 'third sector' and its social and economic context, and are introduced to ways of thinking systematically about nonprofit organisations and their management. Participants also gain knowledge of the range of nonprofit organisations, their structure and distinguishing features.
