What advice would you give HSC students wanting to apply for this scholarship?
During the application process, try to show who you are and why you are passionate about engineering and the sponsor company.
How did you find the interview process for the scholarship?
The interview process was less difficult than I expected. I was nervous, but they were very nice and guided me through the interview process. Also bring along previous things you have done, such as your high school engineering reports and technical drawings – this helped me to explain my previous work during the interview.

How did you find the application process for the scholarship?
The application process was very straightforward. What made UTS’s application process easy was that they had all the scholarships that you can apply for on one webpage, and you could therefore click and apply quite easily.
How did you find the interview for the scholarship?
The interview process was a very good learning experience. The interviewers themselves were quite friendly and highly professional, and this made the experience less daunting.
What advice would you give HSC students wanting to apply for this scholarship?
Go for it! What I have learnt during this process is that being a well-rounded student and an involved member of the community seems to be well regarded when applying for scholarships
What advantages do you think you will have as a Scholar?
As a UTS: Engineering scholar, you have the great benefit of meeting [representatives from] leading engineering companies – you develop relationships with industry leaders and gain valuable experience even before you complete your degree. I feel that this is a tremendous opportunity for anyone who is fortunate enough to be a UTS scholar.

What advice would you give HSC students wanting to apply for this scholarship?
Do as many extracurricular activities that demonstrate your passion for engineering. You also need to demonstrate leadership in your community and teamwork because these are fundamental qualities in an engineer.
How did you find the interview process for the scholarship?
The interviews were very good and laid back and I felt free to express my passion for engineering.
What advantages do you think you will have as a Scholar?
I will have a lot of advantages such as having a lot of interactions with companies before I start looking for work. I think I will also have the advantage of the support offered by other scholars and university staff throughout my studies.

How did you find the application and interview process for the scholarship?
The application and interview process was actually easier than I had anticipated. I was just myself and didn’t overcomplicate the application and interview.
What advantages do you think you will have as a Scholar?
Definitely getting my foot in the door in terms of work experience, the great companies and people that I’ll get to meet.

How did you find the application process for the scholarship?
The application process was definitely not too challenging. You were required to answer a few questions about yourself and essentially submit it to an online portal. It was all based online and therefore easy to do.
How did you find the interview for the scholarship?
I didn’t know what to expect, what questions they were going to ask me, or whether I would be able to answer them. However this fear all vanished once I got to the interview room. The interviewees were really nice and understanding, and often asked me general questions that I could make my own.
