Bachelor of Design in Architecture

For recent school leavers, non-school leavers* and students who have never completed an architecture qualification before. 

Combine the foundations of architectural theory with hands-on practice in digital design and fabrication; explore the software, material and model-making activities that define the contemporary architecture profession; and emerge as a critical thinker and future industry leader in this vibrant global profession. 

Master of Architecture

For students who have already completed the Bachelor of Design in Architecture or an equivalent undergraduate degree in architecture. 

Build specialist expertise in your chosen areas of practice with selective design studios that span critical action and methods for the profession. 

Graduates are eligible for pathway progression towards professional architecture registration. 

Commonwealth Supported Places are available in both the bachelor and master’s courses.

Three steps to an architecture career 

To use the title of ‘Architect’ in NSW*, you’ll need to complete three steps to meet the requirements for professional registration:

  1. Complete an accredited architecture degree sequence:
    • UTS Bachelor of Design in Architecture + UTS Master of Architecture
    • UTS Master of Architecture (if you’ve previously completed an undergraduate degree in architecture elsewhere) 
  2. Sit the architectural practice exam. 
  3. Apply for professional registration with the NSW Architects Registration Board.

NSW registration is also recognised in other Australian states and territories (upon application) and in select countries**.
