The Foreign Correspondent Study Tour (FCST) is supported by the Commonwealth through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), as part of the New Colombo Plan (NCP).
Chiang Mai study tour
The FCST is a for credit subject built around a 2-week study tour to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and will be held from 25th November – 6th December 2024.

Cost: NCP grant of $3,000 per student to cover expenses.
This study tour will allow 2nd and 3rd year UTS journalism students to develop the skills required for reporting in a foreign country, in addition to developing an understanding of various journalism cultures. Students will be pitching and submitting stories to Central News during the study tour.
The program will include scholarly interaction with local educational institutions, industry visits, journalism training seminars and meetings with experts in the field.
The study tour will be hosted at Chiang Mai University, where UTS students will work with local students on topics relating to Migration and Human Rights.
