By taking part in the Foreign Correspondent Study Tour (FCST) journalism students are exposed to the world of foreign affairs and have an immersive experience no classroom can provide.
After the tour, students are prepared for international journalism roles. Past participants on the tour have gone on to work with SBS, ABC and other international news organisations.
UTS has an exclusive partnership with SBS News and SBS Online, which gives participants the opportunity to file news stories on the ground with the chance of being published.
As part of the study tour students:
- work together and file news stories on the ground with real deadlines
- meet with foreign correspondents working in international news networks and experts in the field
- gain an international study experience outside the classroom
- visit local host universities and industries
- attend journalism training seminars
- experience producing journalism in a cultural environment outside Australia
- produce, pitch and submit stories to SBS Online.
