Human rights, inclusion and communication
Entrenching some human rights, above others, can marginalise and exclude: the right to property for instance, can benefit the propertied against the property-less. What is relationship between human rights advocacy and structures of social inclusion, and exclusion? How do marginalised communities, such as disabled people, or refugees, pursue human rights? How do these advocates communicate and mobilise wider public opinion? And how do these approaches relate to the strategies of professional groups, such as social change campaigners, journalists, or government agencies? What is the place of Human rights in the school curriculum on a national and state level and what are the current opportunities for teaching and learning about Human Rights?
