FEIT Meet & Eat
On an initiative of the International Student Ambassadors and Engagement team, the FEIT Meet & Eat was created to offer a space for international students to connect with each other.
The event series was hosted weekly and span over the course of 10 weeks during Spring 2022.
It is a casual networking event combining insightful demonstrations by university service representatives with an informal atmosphere. The event series met with great success among the international student community.

Learning about opportunities at UTS
Each FEIT Meet & Eat event featured a different program, service, or student society from UTS. The goal was to raise awareness about the many opportunities that are available to students at UTS but that are often unexplored or overlooked.
This semester, the FEIT Meet & Eat was lucky enough to star a few of UTS most prominent services, including:
- UTS HELPS
- UTS Careers
- SOUL Award
- Engineers Australia
- UTS Tech Society
- UTS Engineering Society

Expanding cultural awareness
The events also aimed to promote cultural awareness among the FEIT student community through the discovery of different cultural food. Each week, the attendees had the chance to taste a selection of snacks from different regions of the world. From Hong Kong to Berlin, the FEIT Meet & Eat offered a real round-the-world experience and spawned many convivial moments of sharing.
Behind the scenes
International students constitute an important part of the FEIT community and at UTS more broadly. But the diversity of experience that they bring is also accompanied by unique challenges. It is to address the particular needs of international students that the International Student Ambassadors, also known as iAmbassadors, were created.
The FEIT Meet & Eat event series are one of many projects co-design and co-delivered by the iAmbassadors. The FEIT Meet & Eat is in line with UTS 2027 strategy, which aims to create a distinctive experience for international students by providing high-quality support to students across academic and non-academic needs.
