C3 seminar: Climate Warming, Ocean Carbonation and Seagrass
Speaker: Professor Richard Zimmerman, Old Dominion University, Norfolk Virginia.
Title: Combined Impacts of Climate Warming and Ocean Carbonation on Seagrass: From Observation to Prediction
Richard C. Zimmerman is Professor in the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Old Dominion University. His research encompasses the ecological physiology of marine primary producers and the distribution of natural light in the marine environment. Current interests involve the impacts of climate warming and ocean acidification on seagrass ecosystems, passive remote sensing of shallow water environments and the use of LIDAR to map the vertical distribution of particles suspended in the euphotic zone.
