futuremap® diagnostic tool
Absolutely fantastic; this event - highly recommend it to any entrepreneur, businessman, company employees. It's a real eye-opener.
Well, I think today is a great opportunity not only to network with some great minds and people, but also to learn.
So, future map is a tool that was developed by the imcrc to really be a way for industry to assess where it stands today and where it could be in two years but to also bring into that as well as the analytics of the diagnostic concepts, ideas, case studies to provoke thought just really to inspire people.
Essentially today is a fantastic opportunity for our local industry to get together to network with each other, to pause reflect and look forward so they can plan the future of their business.
Part of the industry's mission is to assist businesses to become more competitive to grow to adopt new technologies and it's helping us with futuremap to engage with local industries and make sure they know what's available to assist them in this journey.
There's a lot happening in the region as well so there's a lot of support from New South Wales government, from the Federal Government as well and it's just hard to miss it, not to do it.
These kinds of opportunities are really good because you're hearing case studies and stories from other people what worked what didn't work so you can really streamline what you want to do to move forward.
So what people can expect at a workshop? We combine two things - we combine content that we deliver which is you know hopefully punchy, hopefully insightful and provoking, but then also within that there's some reflection time so they'll work within our portal to just gauge where are they now, score themselves against a bunch of questions and at the end of the session we'll reflect on what their report says about them, where their ambitions are but also what the nation has said so we can look at some of the aggregate data and compare where they are to that, which I think people find really helpful.
it's a great opportunity to just sit back and reflect and understand what's been discussed with all these emerging technologies; see how they do apply to your organisation.
Those spider web diagrams are always very useful to see where we sit as opposed to where we think we'd like to sit, and I'll take that back to our management and we'll have a good discussion around it.
It's been such an energising experience coming here putting your head up out of your busy day just to see what's happening outside.
It's really important that programs like this collaborate across the ecosystem so we can bring the best value to SMEs in a time frame that suits them.
Designed by the IMCRC (Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre) and now owned and managed by Ai Group, with Australian Manufacturing SMEs in mind, the futuremap diagnostic tool offer manufacturers (e.g. business owners, CEOs) a unique opportunity to assess their current business capabilities and help them identify what is needed to advance and successfully transform their manufacturing operation.
The workshop focuses on key areas of industrial and advanced manufacturing competitiveness, including:
- Market positioning
- Leadership, strategy and change management
- Innovation and use of technology
- Digital manufacturing (Industry 4.0).
Using futuremap® - the business diagnostic tool - participating manufacturers will be asked to reflect on their business processes as well as think ahead two years, foreseeing how their business will evolve and grow. Participants will leave the workshop with an individual futuremap, highlighting their aspiration for the next two years.
