In February 2021, ISF in partnership with the New Democracy Foundation launched the first of two courses in deliberative democracy.
Leading Deliberative Democracy is a course specifically designed for elected representatives, senior decision-makers and leaders within organisations.
The course outlines the basics of deliberative democracy, how it is different to traditional citizen engagement processes, when to use deliberative processes and how they are designed to deliver recommendations from a diverse and representative group of society.
Participants in this course gain key insights from leaders who have overseen successful deliberative processes, and learn how to apply the principles of deliberative processes to address the complex issues your organisation is facing.
Leading Deliberative Democracy sits alongside Doing Deliberative Democracy, which is a course designed for community engagement staff, professional facilitators and anyone interested in learning how deliberative processes run.
