Awards and recognition in 2018
- Dr Michelle Zeibots and her interdisciplinary research team won the UTS Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Research Excellence through Collaboration for the innovative Responsive Passenger Information Systems project with Downer and Transport for NSW.
- Professor Juliet Willetts was named in the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence. As the Director of International Development Research at ISF, she was recognised for her outstanding contributions including her work to address gender equality and the role of civil society, as an expert in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
- Dr Helen Lewis received the Waste Management Association of Australia’s Women in the Environment Award. She has been promoting sustainability in Australia, with a focus on product stewardship.
- Distinguished Professor Cynthia Mitchell was recognised as a Legend of Water by the Australia Water Association. Her academic contribution was also acknowledged with the title of Distinguished Professor.
