Fulbright turns focus to oceans, architecture
Professor Doblin, a core member of the Climate Change Cluster in the Faculty of Science, will further her research on the responses of marine plankton to environmental change in collaboration with researchers at the University of Southern California (USC) and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Professor Rice, Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, will study the work of American architect Gunnar Birkerts, in particular the designs for underground buildings and cities he made in the 1970s and ’80s. He will be based at Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Michigan.
Professor Doblin said she is excited to be able to immerse herself in research that will help to predict phytoplankton primary productivity in the future ocean.
