UTS and the Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata have consolidated their strong collaborative relationship with the official launch of the ISI-UTS Joint Research Cluster on Artificial Intelligence.
New joint research cluster in artificial intelligence
The ISI-UTS Joint Research Cluster on Artificial Intelligence (JRC) was officially launched by Consul General in Kolkata Mr Andrew Ford. The JRC builds on the world leading expertise of both institutions in artificial intelligence, and will enable accelerated collaboration to grow the scale and impact of their research.
The establishment of this JRC further extends UTS’ deep networks in India, which include Key Technology Partnerships supported by strong academic links.
Under the KTP with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, 10 Visiting Fellows have travelled to UTS to deepen networks between the two institutions, with particularly strong engagement in the Faculty of Engineering and IT. The ongoing partnership is driving plans for another joint research collaboration between UTS and IITM in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, IoT and blockchain – leading research strengths in the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
The Faculty of Engineering and IT is also working with the Vellore Institute of Technology to grow its distinctive and deeply collaborative partnership model, which extends across teaching and research and supports joint excellence in areas of shared and complementary research strengths.
