UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology is creating strong partnerships in Taiwan.
Taiwan
The partnerships focus on research engagements and include collaborative PhD program with partner universities in Taiwan. The key areas of collaboration are:
- Wireless Communications and Sensing
- Cybersecurity
- Semiconductor and Electronics
- Computer Vision
- Artificial intelligence
- Internet of Things
- Electrical Power and Energy Systems
- Space Technologies
- Environmental Engineering
- Water Engineering
- Renewable Fuel
UTS has established or is in the process of establishing collaborative PhD programs with the following universities in Taiwan:
- National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) – program in place
- National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) – program in place
- National Taiwan University (NTU) – program coming soon
- National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) – program coming soon
Potential PhD students (including those outside of Australia and Taiwan) are invited to apply for the above collaborative PhD programs. Current PhD students at UTS and at the partner university can also apply. Under these programs PhD students will be enrolled at both UTS and the partner university. PhD students will conduct their research at both universities and they will graduate with PhD degrees from both UTS and the partner university. Scholarships both at UTS and at the partner university are available to support students in these programs.
