Masterplanning is critical to effective development of the urban environment. Real life development situations are complex and demand creative group solutions. Students work in groups to identify an actual development site in the Sydney region and develop a masterplan for that location. They participate in field trips to their chosen site, meeting with the council or state representatives responsible for its management, and receive a briefing directly from them. This subject is a real-life opportunity to create better urban outcomes and establish professional relationships in the field.
