As a university student you may be eligible for discounts for a wide range of products and services, including entry to movies, museums and art galleries- remember to always carry your student card with you.
Always ask if there is a student discount when shopping for goods and services; you may be well rewarded.
Transport
If you are studying full time and are an Australian citizen or resident you may be entitled to a concession on trains and buses. International students may also be eligible for conditional discounts. Full requirements for student transport concession card eligibility can be found on the SAU website.
Concession entitlements are available for the following public transport types: CityRail, Countrylink, Airport Link, Sydney Buses and Ferries, Sydney Light Rail.
For private buses and ferries you may purchase concession fares but these are only valid for travel to scheduled lectures (the educational institution attaches a copy of the student's timetable to the pass).

Movies
Most cinemas offer cheaper tickets on Tuesday; on other days you will be able to get a student discount. The UTS Union sells discounted movie tickets on Level 3A of the Tower Building.
The Union also shows recent releases for free in the Theatre Lounge during semester.
Health Care Cards
Students on low incomes may be eligible for a Health Care Card (HCC) through Centrelink. You do not have to be on a Centrelink benefit to be eligible (opens an external site). Cardholders are entitled to Commonwealth health concessions, such as low cost medicines.
Activate UTS
Stay in touch with the UTS Activate website for deals around clubs, sports and events.
Activate may also assist students on full Centrelink benefits, with the cost of participating in major events, such as the annual City to Surf.

Childcare
UTS Childcare seeks to provide a "affordable high quality children's services". They also offer discount rates for UTS student and/or staff parent carers. Also check out your eligibility for concessions and Centrelink help with Childcare fees and subsidies, and child care rebates.
Other concessions
Other concessions (opens an external site) may be available to card holders who are on Centrelink benefits such as reductions in property, water rates and energy bills, discounts on motor vehicle registration, and more.
