UTS Equity and diversity website offers information, resources and support on maintaining mental wellbeing. Includes discussions and resources on mental health, counselling, dealing with anxiety and depression, as well as a list of available help and helpful websites.
The Students' Association provide free legal advices and advocacy for students.
Help break down the stigma surrounding mental health issues and change the way those with mental health problems are perceived. Programs are available to enable students who have experienced mental ill health to share their story with others. These programs are run by Batyr, a non-profit organisation engaged by UTS to help empower and educate young people around mental health. TalkCampus is an anonymous peer support app where you can talk with other students from around the world if you are struggling and worried about your mental health. Your student email address will give you free access, just download TalkCampus from the app stores. It’s a place just for you, no staff, no fear of judgement, just instant ongoing support. If you’re in a crisis, TalkCampus will connect you via phone right away with a clinician who can help. TalkCampus also offers a professional crisis support helpline. If you’re on the platform and feeling suicidal the team will help you connect with a clinician on the phone. You can choose the language you feel most comfortable with using and it’s all totally anonymous. You can also find details of the helpline and other support options in the sidebar of the app.
