Our researchers
Led by our Associate Dean (Research and Development), Professor Kathy Walsh, our researchers come from diverse backgrounds in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. They are involved in both theoretical and applied research, in national and international contexts, and across the private, public and community sectors. The Business School is also home to six unique research centres that facilitate the joint expertise needed to generate real-world solutions using a multidisciplinary research approach. This approach encourages researchers and practitioners from various fields to collaborate and contribute their unique insights, methodologies, and expertise to solve complex problems.
The high priority the Business School gives to engagement with industry and community is also reflected in its research work. Many of our researchers continue to practise in the professional world and share their research findings and expertise with industry, government and community via professional consultancy services. Some of our research is conducted on a contract basis for industry or in other forms of research partnership.
Our researchers are published in leading academic journals, invited to address prestigious conferences, called on by the media and others to provide expert opinion and have a strong record of attracting funding.
The research evaluation body Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) rates UTS Business School 'above' or 'well above' world standard across a range of research areas, positioning us as a national leader.
