UTS has a strategic three year Health and Safety Planning cycle. This is used to develop a Health and Safety Strategic Plan to drive health and safety performance across the University.
The UTS Health and Safety Strategic Plan focuses on the:
- issues and risks concerning the UTS community, and
- aims to address any deficiencies in the UTS health and safety management system itself.
The UTS Health and Safety Advisory Committee (UTS staff access only) is tasked with the development, monitoring, review and improvement of the UTS Health and Safety Strategic Plan (UTS staff access only).
The Plan includes key UTS-wide initiatives, noting accountabilities and timeframes. It is used to drive and monitor health and safety project activity as well as to structure management reporting, and the Committee's agenda.
Health and Safety Plans (Faculties/Units)
Your faculty/unit Health and Safety Plan (UTS staff access only) is an operational plan that provides practical guidance to help comply with our health and safety obligations.
Deans and Directors are responsible for finalising the faculty/unit health and safety plans and ensuring the plan remains current and relevant. Consultation with staff is the key to the success of health and safety plans.
The frequency of health and safety planning is every two years.
