We understand that crime reduction, crime solving and national security in general are important for society and that there are great benefits for Australia in modern and validated scientific techniques, processes and policies for the prevention and investigation of crime and terrorism. Through our education and training programs, we provide society with the next-generation of forensic scientists who will have the skills and attributes to drive existing and future professions and lead the industry. 

Areas of strength include Forensic Genetics and Biology, Fingermark Detection and Imaging, Illicit Drug Detection and Biomarkers. We train, educate and research at the intersection of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), information technology (IT), law and social sciences to address questions that are fundamental to the concept of national security and public safety.
