Welcome from the Deputy Head of School (Research)
As the inaugural Deputy Head of School (Research), I am delighted to introduce you to our nursing and midwifery research community and to share our strategic research framework.
Our research is highly relevant and responsive to contemporary issues. It is transferrable to clinical practice, contributing to best practice, clinical guidelines and health policy. Our research is designed to be meaningful to patients and clinicians and integral to the development of globally recognised nursing and midwifery researchers.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is the leading nursing and midwifery school in Australia. Our research is categorised as world standard, and in the most recent Australian Excellence in Research Ratings (ERA) round for fields of research, our school achieved the highest possible rating of 5/5.
At UTS, we are deeply committed to supporting Higher Degree Research candidates to succeed through expert supervision and a nurturing environment that enables them to complete a project of scholarly excellence. Our early and mid-career researchers are mentored by experienced researchers and supported to maximise their professional growth as research leaders.
Best wishes
Professor Jane Maguire
Deputy Head of School (Research)
