In July two winners of the Indonesia Science Your Future competition visited the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
Science Your Future winners tour UTS Engineering and IT
High school teams from across Indonesia submitted entries for the competition, with five winning teams selected by judges from Australian ATN universities. The awardees won a week-long study tour of their partner university.
Two students from St Louis Surabaya impressed judges with their innovative development of an alcohol-free hand sanitiser made from coconut husk.
The two winning students, Maureen Priscilla and Liliani Chandranata, were accompanied by their teacher, Novan Ali, during a week-long study tour of UTS.
To kick off their tour of the Faculty of Engineering and IT, the girls and their teacher visited the Centre for Autonomous Systems robotics labs for an up close and behind the scenes introduction to ground-breaking UTS robots. Moving across to the Engineering and IT building, the students visited student learning spaces, labs, and the Women in Engineering and IT space.
The visitors quizzed students in the Games Lounge about the future of gaming, and discussed design thinking with Women in Engineering and IT.
We really enjoyed it a lot and learned a lot of exciting things.
