2022 Cross-Faculty Collaboration recipients

In 2022, funding has been provided to 24 projects from across UTS including 132 researchers from all faculties.

Some of the projects supported are addressing critical real-world issues such as hydrogen storage materials, water management, the student mental health and learning and building disability workforce.

The 2022 round was different to the previous year, by having 5 Focus streams of funding:

  • HASS-DSI: this scheme promotes collaboration between Humanities, Arts and Social Science researchers (who mostly sit outside UTS Research centres) and researchers from the Data Science Institute (DSI)
  • Good Health and Wellbeing: available to academics based in the Faculty of Health to collaborate on projects with researcher in other faculties, focusing on Health Sustainable Development Goal 3.
  • Respect.Now.Always: this focus stream seeks to understand the views, expectations, needs and requirements of UTS students around this complex issue of sexual harassment and sexual assault within the UTS community.
  • Visualisation Institute: The scheme aims to promote research translation by facilitating novel applications of ‘visualisation’ (in the broadest sense of the word) to address or explore real world challenges.
  • General stream: any area of cross faculty research, but for project where the lead CI has no external research funding
