Research Professional

UTS subscribes to Research Professional, an online database of funding opportunities eligibility verified for Australian researchers. Funding spans all disciplines and is offered from a range of sponsors in Australia and overseas.

Governance

Responsible research

Research governance comprises the principles, requirements and standards of research. These principles, requirements and standards are encapsulated in our research policies. All of our research policies are there to promote good research culture and practice.

Research management covers University expectations of how projects, data and outputs are managed. Research ethics and integrity concern the protection of participants, safety and quality of research, privacy and confidentiality, financial probity, legal and regulatory matters, risk management and monitoring arrangements to promote good research culture and practice.

A range of guides on the above topics is available for download at Staff Connect. All UTS researchers should be aware of these policies and adhere to them.

Autonomous sanctions

The Autonomous Sanctions Framework comprises the Autonomous Sanctions Act 2011 (the Act) and the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011. Australian sanction laws implement the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions regimes and Australian autonomous sanctions regimes.

Defence Trade Controls

In accordance with the Defence Trade Controls Act 2012 (DTCA), researchers must determine whether their research activity involves Defence and Strategic Goods List (DSGL) technology and whether they will be sharing this information with a person outside Australia.

  • If yes, an application for a permit will have to be lodged with the DECO.
  • More information is available from the Defence Export controls site.

Further information for UTS staff members is available at Staff Connect.
