The start of uni can be a mix of excitement and nerves. What should you expect? Will it be different to high school? Here are our top differences between uni and high school.
1. No early morning classes (unless you want them)
Unlike high school, you’ll have a degree of control over when your classes are. We know you might have to pick your sister up from school at 3pm, or that you might work on Tuesdays, so we’ve made sure classes are offered on a variety of days. Our top tip? Use the Timetable planner to see when your classes are offered.
2. You’re in the driver’s seat
At school, you might have had teachers reminding when assignments and exams were coming up. At uni, this isn’t always the case. You’ll need to keep on top of when your assignments are due, what you need to prepare for classes and more. The key to staying on top of it all? Make sure you write down key dates in your calendar.
3. More opportunities than you can count
Societies, clubs and sports, oh my! At uni the world is, literally, your oyster. Whether you want to join humanitarian clubs, go to uni games or get involved with a start up, you can do it! With all the opportunities available, the only tricky bit is choosing which one/s to get involved in.
4. Lots more food options
Say goodbye to the same roasted vegetable panini from the school canteen and say hello MadMax. Or maybe sushi hub? Or uni bros? Whatever you’re craving for lunch, you have spice alley, central park and our new Building 2 food court to crush your cravings.
