My overall course experience at UTS has been truly exceptional. As an international student arriving in Australia with apprehensions, choosing UTS has proven to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. The diverse curriculum, dedicated faculty and the welcoming and supportive environment provided me with a sense of belonging from the start.
A defining aspect of my degree has been the emphasis on hands-on learning, which has truly set UTS apart. Engaging in internships and placements has been a highlight of my academic journey, offering me practical insights and experiences that go beyond the classroom and UTS has offered me the perfect platform for such experiential learning.

My experience in the PEMS program was incredibly rewarding. I completed my placement at the immunology lab in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. I really liked the program's flexibility in allowing me to choose both the lab and location I wanted to work in. Although I was initially nervous about starting my placement, those feelings quickly subsided as I realized how supportive the environment was. The equipment used in the labs at RPA was familiar from my experiences at UTS, which helped me feel more comfortable.
Additionally, I was also connected to a mentor who had previously gone through the PEMS program who offered valuable support during the entire experience. Moreover, I had the chance to meet some UTS alumni in the lab who had also gone through the PEMS program. Witnessing them in full-time positions within NSW Health Pathology solidified the program's effectiveness in paving the way for future career opportunities.
