I felt it was the right time in my nursing career to transition to become a Registered Nurse
Accelerated: Enrolled Nurse
My family immigrated to Australia from Ecuador when I was one. Growing up, I was never academic but, after working as an Enrolled Nurse, I felt it was the right time in my nursing career to transition to become a Registered Nurse. I’ve found that as a mature age student, I have really found my passion and motivation to do my very best in my studies.
I chose nursing because I am passionate about helping people. It is a very satisfying and rewarding vocation.
I made the decision to come to UTS after a colleague recommended it to me. I was so impressed by the clinical labs amongst other things. UTS continues to be ranked no. 1 in Australia for Nursing and Midwifery and I know that I’ve made the right choice.
For me, the most rewarding aspect of the course is seeing my results after each session ends. Whilst I found it challenging, my results far exceeded my expectations of myself, which in turn, has spurred me on to do better each time. I’ve definitely become more confident in my academic learning.
After I graduate, who knows where life will take me! As a Registered Nurse there are so many different opportunities available, not only in Australia but also overseas.
I encourage future and current students to enjoy your time at university! Be open to try new things. University is an adventure, so just go for it.
