Overview
The Ericsson Technology Scholarship was created to deepen and broaden Ericsson Australia’s pool of technology talent and provide applicants who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice an opportunity to undertake a work placement at Ericsson Australia.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
- Be enrolled full-time in one of the specified UTS undergraduate degrees and relevant majors, and meet respective requirement for each degree:
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice, and have successfully completed 96 credit points in the course;
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Engineering Professional Practice majoring in Data, Electronic, Mechatronic or Software Engineering, and have completed or be enrolled in Engineering Practice Preparation 2 but have not completed Engineering Professional Experience 2;
- Combined Engineering or IT degree with Diploma in Professional Practice, and meeting the above respective requirements.
- Have achieved a minimum of Credit Average Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 or above; and
- All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person unless otherwise agreed;
- Be available to start a placement in either Autumn or Spring session for the year the scholarship is awarded.
Selection process
As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:
- Academic merit (based on WAM); and
- Motivation to pursue a career in technology using innovative thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills, as demonstrated in the scholarship application and interview; and
- Demonstrated initiative to seek opportunities to continually advance their professional and personal lives, as demonstrated in the scholarship application and interview.
Applications of shortlisted candidates will be presented to Ericsson. Ericsson (or nominee) will chair an Interview Panel, conduct interviews, and a make a recommendation to the Scholarship Selection Committee.
